Itinerary Guide
This comprehensive itinerary is designed to guide you through an exciting journey filled with remarkable destinations and captivating experiences in Casablanca.
Arrive at Mohammed V International Airport and travel to your hotel in central Casablanca (approximately 30-40 minutes). After settling in, take a leisurely walk along the Corniche, Casablanca’s scenic beachfront boulevard stretching 4 kilometers along the Atlantic coast. Enjoy the ocean views, modern resorts, and beach clubs. Visit the Ain Diab neighborhood for sunset views and dinner at a seaside restaurant serving fresh seafood and Moroccan specialties.
Begin your day visiting the spectacular Hassan II Mosque, one of the world’s largest mosques with its 210-meter minaret towering over the Atlantic Ocean. Join a guided tour (one of few mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslims) to admire the intricate marble work, carved cedar ceilings, and stunning oceanfront location where the prayer hall appears to float on water. Explore the atmospheric Old Medina with its narrow winding streets, traditional shops, and local life. Visit the Sqala fortification for harbor views.
Discover Casablanca’s French colonial heritage through an Art Deco architecture walking tour in the city center, viewing buildings from the 1920s-30s along Boulevard Mohammed V. Visit the elegant Place Mohammed V with its fountain and colonial administrative buildings. Explore the charming Habous Quarter (New Medina) built by the French in the 1930s, featuring wide streets, traditional Moroccan architecture, artisan shops selling leather goods, spices, and olives. Stop at the Royal Palace gates for photos.
Visit the famous Rick’s Café, a detailed recreation of the bar from the classic film “Casablanca” featuring 1940s decor, live piano music, and excellent cuisine. Browse the Central Market (Marché Central) for fresh produce, spices, olives, and local delicacies. Explore Villa des Arts, a beautiful Art Deco villa showcasing contemporary Moroccan and international art. Spend the afternoon shopping at Morocco Mall, Africa’s second-largest shopping center featuring international brands and a massive aquarium. Experience a traditional hammam in the evening.
Take an optional day trip to Morocco’s capital city Rabat (90 minutes by train), visiting the Hassan Tower, Mausoleum of Mohammed V, Kasbah of the Udayas with its blue-and-white streets, and Chellah necropolis. Alternatively, enjoy a relaxing final day exploring any missed attractions, shopping for souvenirs in the medinas, taking a Moroccan cooking class, or relaxing at a beach club along the Corniche before your final evening in this cosmopolitan city.
