Arrive at Naples Airport and transfer to your accommodation (20-40 minutes). Explore the UNESCO-listed historic center, one of the largest in Europe. Walk along Spaccanapoli, the ancient arrow-straight street dividing the old city. Visit magnificent baroque churches including Gesù Nuovo and Santa Chiara with its beautiful majolica cloister. Discover artisan workshops, street life, and chaotic charm. Experience authentic Neapolitan pizza at one of the legendary pizzerias like L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele or Sorbillo.
Take a day trip to the remarkably preserved Roman city of Pompeii, frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Explore the extensive ruins including houses with frescoes, temples, theaters, baths, and streets showing ancient Roman daily life. In the afternoon, either hike to the crater rim of Mount Vesuvius for spectacular views over the Bay of Naples, or visit the smaller but equally fascinating Herculaneum ruins with better-preserved buildings and organic materials.
