Arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and transfer to your hotel. After settling in, head to the iconic Gateway of India, Mumbai’s most famous monument facing the Arabian Sea. Admire the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel next door. Stroll along the waterfront, watch street performers, and take evening chai watching boats depart. Walk through the atmospheric Colaba Causeway with its shops, cafes, and street vendors. Enjoy dinner at a traditional Irani cafe or restaurant.
Explore the magnificent Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (formerly Victoria Terminus), a UNESCO World Heritage railway station featuring stunning Victorian Gothic architecture. Take a ferry from Gateway of India to Elephanta Island to explore ancient rock-cut cave temples dedicated to Shiva featuring impressive sculptures (closed Mondays).
