Visit Piazza Castello, Turin’s central square featuring the Royal Palace and Palazzo Madama. Walk down Via Roma, the city’s main shopping street lined with elegant boutiques. Visit the beautiful Piazza San Carlo with its twin baroque churches. Experience Turin’s famous café culture at historic Caffè Torino or Caffè San Carlo. Enjoy dinner featuring Piedmontese specialties.
Visit the renowned Egyptian Museum, the world’s second-largest collection of Egyptian antiquities after Cairo, featuring mummies, sarcophagi, papyri, and the stunning statue collection. Tour the magnificent Royal Palace of Savoy with its opulent state rooms, armory, and royal gardens. Visit Palazzo Madama, a medieval castle turned baroque palace housing the City Museum of Ancient Art. Climb the Mole Antonelliana tower (167.5m) for panoramic city and Alps views, then explore the fascinating National Cinema Museum inside.
Take a trip to the spectacular Palace of Venaria Reale (30 minutes), a magnificent baroque palace rivaling Versailles with stunning gardens, galleries, and royal apartments. The UNESCO site showcases the power and taste of the Savoy dynasty. Alternatively, visit the Hunting Lodge of Stupinigi. Return to climb or take the rack railway to Superga Basilica on a hilltop overlooking Turin, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the city, Po River, and Alpine arc.
Take a day trip to the stunning Langhe wine region (1 hour), home to some of Italy’s greatest wines. Visit medieval hilltop villages like Barolo, La Morra, and Barbaresco surrounded by vineyard-covered hills. Tour family-run wineries tasting Barolo “King of Wines” and Barbaresco, paired with local hazelnuts, cheese, and white truffles (in season). Experience the beautiful rolling landscape of UNESCO-listed vineyard terraces. Return via Alba, famous for white truffles and chocolate.
Discover Turin’s chocolate heritage—the city invented gianduja chocolate and the bicerin drink. Visit historic chocolate shops and factories for tastings. Explore the beautiful Valentino Park along the Po River featuring the Medieval Borgo and romantic castle. Visit the Shroud of Turin Cathedral (the controversial cloth is rarely displayed but the cathedral and chapel are stunning).
